Companion Provider

Job Description
Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Companion Provider to support individuals in the community with daily living activities, social engagement, and personal independence. This position focuses on providing companionship, supervision, community inclusion, and supportive care to individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, seniors, and other vulnerable populations.
The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, professional, and passionate about helping others maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life in their home and community environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist clients with community outings and recreational activities
- Encourage independence with daily routines and life skills
- Support clients with meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social activities
- Monitor client safety and overall well-being
- Document services accurately and timely
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and client dignity at all times
- Follow care plans and communicate concerns to supervisors promptly
- Utilize EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) for clock-in and clock-out procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health, seniors, or special needs preferred
- Compassionate and dependable personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
